New modules

Version 4.6 contains new modules including Proactive Protection and Communication Services. There are also some completely new tools which are distinct from those of other Bitrix Site Manager products: Site Explorer, Photo Gallery and Media Gallery. The ‘old’ modules of the product have been significantly upgraded.

Communication Services

This module allows use of BBCode in forums and blogs, as well as insertion of video and image files inside posts.

Blogs

Blog management and support of online communities.

The Blogs module empowers your site with one of the most popular, convenient and practical forms of information exchange. This module not only accommodates standalone blogs, but also blog communities, where each site user owns an individual page with a blog.


Now, with the upgraded Blogs module, your blogs can take on new dimensions. For example, insert an image, video, or music file right inside a post. Format posts to your taste using HTML support for ‘mere mortals’. Additionally, administrators need not worry about bad code disrupting the site – all extraneous code is eliminated by the HTML Parser.

You’ll like publishing posts directly from MS Word or Windows Live Writer, using various RSS import/export options, or sorting posts using entered tags and properties. Now finding something in a blog or in several blogs is quite quick, since both posts and commentary are fully indexed.

New in blogs: visual editor; HTML support for posts with HTML Parser, which cuts out unnecessary tags and increases the security and validity of code; attachment of images, video and music to posts; mirroring of blogs, support of import from RSS, various RSS export options; publication to blogs directly from Windows Live Writer and Microsoft Office; tag support in blog posts; indexation by the Search module of posts and commentary, which allows morphological search in all content; support of user properties in posts with filtering according to these properties.

Forums

A management system for forums and discussions with formatting tools for open and closed communities.

The Forums module lets you create any number of forums on the site.


Each forum can have a specified form of moderating and individual distribution of access rights. In the new version, forums can feature full support of RSS and BBCode. In fact, a comprehensive set of BBCode can be added to messages using the simple interface which appears at the top of the text input field.

Proactive Protection Module

Proactive Protection, or PRO + PRO, is a security innovation from Bitrix which significantly strengthens the Product’s security. This module is integrated into the Product itself and represents a complex of technical and organizational measures which unite to provide an all-encompassing security concept which widens the scope of protection and the ability of web applications to react to threats. The main functions of the module are the filtering and ‘disinfecting’ of potentially dangerous data (the proactive filter) and the keeping of an event log.

Proactive filter (Web Application Firewall)

The proactive filter (WAF - Web Application Firewall) gives protection from the majority of known attacks on web applications. This filter recognizes threats among queries from external users and blocks intrusions into the site. The proactive filter is the most effective method of protection from security flaws with can arise at the inception of internet projects (XSS, SQL Injection and many others). The filter’s actions are based on analysis and filtration of all data which comes from users through variables and cookies.

Event Log

The Log registers all events which occur in the system which are either unusual or threatening. Fast registration of events allows review of corresponding posts in the Log immediately after their generation. This allows attacks and attempted attacks to be located as they occur. Thus, you will have the opportunity to take steps against attacks, and in some cases, to anticipate them.

Other

General: you can now create united tag clouds from the tags of chosen blogs, forums and infoblocks; the new Site User List gives you flexibility in managing user registration and access rights. Information blocks: Information blocks now support RSS and various filtering and sorting options; tags can be added to information blocks to supply more flexibility in filtering and adding their content to web pages.

• the number of working places
• the number of registered users and user groups
• the number of domain names

License Activation

All the customers should activate and register their Bitrix Site Manager ASP.NET licenses within 6 months period after the license purchase.
