Having been included as a crucial part of the new Amber Concept, the Adaptive Interface was designed to assist you in creating a modern web project, reducing the project development time and costs. "Adaptive" means that the user interface remembers your preferences, adapts to your content management habits and patterns, e.g. the way you want dialog windows to appear, or the way you customize columns in result tables, search filters, etc. The Bitrix Adaptive Interface can be useful in many ways:

• It facilitates integration and greatly reduces web project development expenses. By no means is it necessary to scrutinize a pile of the product documentation or get additional consultation to perform common content management operations. You simply start working. It's all there! It's all intuitive!
• It reduces training costs. In order to manage the a website, it is enough to have experience in basic office applications. There is no need for new managers to undergo special training; they can start utilizing the system straight away!
• The Adaptive Interface automates basic operations allowing you to avoid daily routine. All frequent operations are optimized by the system automatically.
• It helps you reduce web project development risk factors. The Adaptive Interface ensures that your CMS remains "dummy-proof" eliminating all possible risks of damaging either the system or the content of your web project which can be caused by an unexperienced user. E.g. each modification performed in the Site Mode can be rolled back or undone.

The Amber Concept itself is new to Bitrix products. It first appeared with and was included in the v9.5 of Bitrix Site Manager and Bitrix Intranet Portal. The Amber Concept of CMS ergonomics and website development principles developed by Bitrix specialists. The Amber concept incorporates only the best Web 2.0 principles and a modern GUI (graphical user interface) solution. Bitrix Amber has two key elements:

1. A concept involving a simple graphical user interface (GUI) that allows management of a website or intranet portal (i.e. enhanced ergonomics and usability of all Bitrix web applications and software products).
2. A set of technological recommendations for developers and content managers, allowing them to build and manage web projects created on the Bitrix platform in a more convenient way (i.e. main principles, aids, and usage recommendations present inside the product).

• manage virtually all Bitrix elements and components placed on a page (including banners, menus, the header/footer, etc.);
• navigate the mouse pointer over a component or an element to view all editing options on a mini-toolbar which can be pinned vertically or horizontally on the page (your preference will be remembered by the adaptive interface, and displayed the same way the second time you edit the page);
• modify, add, or remove components in the front-end of your website / portal (you will no longer have to go the back-end of your site, i.e. to the Control Panel, to change a component placed on a page).
