Performance

Web projects powered by Bitrix software products can be optimized to show only the best performance under any web traffic load. Using different hardware parameters and software configurations, every web project or Intranet portal can be flexibly scaled up to meet your company's changing needs.
Overview

Stability under High Loads

The efficiency and reliability of the Bitrix platform was tested by a group of independent experts at Ontico (www.ontico.ru), who specialize in development of high-performance web-projects. The test results proved Bitrix software to provide reliable and smooth operation of the tested web projects both websites and Intranet portals.

"We were very impressed with the results of the Bitrix Site Manager performance test. Our extensive experience in evaluating different content management systems allows us to make a solid conclusion: this is one of the most robust solutions in the market and delivers a great value to customers in terms of functionality and performance," said Oleg Bounine, CEO of Ontico.

The test was performed on a simple computer with Intel Core2 Duo CPU E4500 2.20GHz processor, 2Gb RAM, and an HDD with 250Gb 7200rpm running the CentOS operating system. The web environment included Nginx (0.6.39), Apache (2.2.3), PHP (5.2.12), ZendServer CE and a MySQL (5.0.77) database. Below, you can find more detailed information:

Apache Configuration:
StartServers: 50
MinSpareServers: 50
MaxSpareServers: 50
MaxClients: 50
ServerLimit: 50
MaxRequestsPerChild : 100
NGINX Configuration:
worker_processes: 8
use epoll;
worker_connections: 10240

PHP Configuration:
session.gc_maxlifetime: 300
MySQL Configuration:
thread_cache_size: 48
max_connections: 100

System Break Down Point

The diagram above shows that the system break down point is very high. The system went down at 222 requests per second (19 million per day) with an average response time of 2.5 seconds.

Below is a table showing the maximum system load (the point at which the Bitrix Site Manager started to malfunction) and the performance level with acceptable service quality.

Maximum System Load

The impressive results of the performance test show improvements over previous versions of Bitrix Site Manager and Bitrix Intranet Portal: both products are now equipped with enhanced caching, database interaction and compression modes which are part of the new TrafficJuggler™ technology. However big you want to grow - it doesn't matter as long as you use a reliable Content Management System (CMS) or Enterprise Content Manager (ECM) that Bitrix, Inc. can provide you with!
