The kernel module of the Bitrix Site Manager contains a system of authorization, registration and management of users and user groups, which is common for all the modules and the whole site. The single database is used to enroll both the company’s specialists and site visitors.
All rights in the system are distributed among user groups exclusively.
Administrative interface allows to hold any number of user groups. There are two groups required to exist in the system: the Administrator group consisting of users with unlimited rights which are allowed to run the executable code on a site. And Everyone group consisting of all unauthorized and unregistered site users.
During the software installation, the first and the only for the moment user is created. He or she belongs to the Administrator group and can perform all operations on site.
As of version 4.0, the system contains the following groups with the corresponding permissions:
- Administrators – administrator with the full access and a code execution permission;
- Everyone – unauthorized or unregistered site visitor;
- Registered users – a registered user is assigned to this group by default.
- You can change this setting or assign a user to more than one groups in the System settings -> Modules -> Kernel module;
- Partners – partners of the company;
- Customers – clients;
- Content editors – content and information blocks editors;
- Techsupport administrators;
- Techsupport staff;
- Advertising administrators;
- Advertisers;
- Advertising managers;
- Workflow administrators;
- Forum Moderators.
The list of users assigned to a correspondent group can be checked and customized in the module settings.
The group settings contain access permissions to the administrative section of modules. Access permissions can be additionally customized in the Information Blocks, Forums, Web Forms, Polls and Surveys, Commercial Catalog, Workflow, Advertising, Helpdesk modules.
User profile contains both required registration information and optional user information including personal data, information about company and the forum user profile. All users can be managed in the administrative section in the Users menu.
The user profile also contains information on groups to which the user is assigned. A user can be bound to more than one group.
The group to which the user is assigned defines their rights on site.
The security system administrator can obtain the list of users bound to any group and edit this information if necessary.
