The Advertising module is designed for managing and selling advertising areas. The module allows to insert advertising of any type, take full control of its display and disposition, make contracts with advertisers, plan media activity, show advertisements to the target audience (according to the advertising campaign traits), limit banner clicks, and more.
With the Advertising module, you can:
- define advertising areas in the site design;
- create an unlimited number of advertising types and use them to manage advertising areas;
- use advertisement of any type: image banners, html banners, flash banners, pop-ups etc.;
- edit HTML banners using the embedded HTML editor;
- take advantage of using external advertisement rotators to show third-party banners on your site;
- create and use an unlimited number of banners;
- place an unlimited number of banners in a single advertising area; control the probability of displaying different banners in a single area;
- configure the following banner settings:
- placing and timing of banner shows (restrictions):
- priority;
- maximum number of visitors to view the banner;
- maximum number of impressions to one visitor and in total;
- whether or not the number of clicks on a banner will be registered;
- maximum number of banner clicks;
- duration of banner shows (start and end dates);
- targeting:
- sites where a banner is to be shown;
- kind of visitors (new visitors; returning visitors, all visitors);
- specific sections and pages;
- keywords;
- country-based restrictions;
- advertising campaigns (show banners to visitors during certain campaigns);
- media settings:
- image banners: image, tooltip, link, target window;
- HTML banners: such banners are created in the visual HTML editor;
- banner status:
- consideration status: «Approved», «On approval», «Rejected»;
- status comments;
- option to notify banner owners on the status change;
- modify permissions to access the Advertising module according to roles: administrator, banner manager etc;
- create an unlimited number of advertising contracts for advertisers;
- define the following contract parameters:
- restrict banner shows:
- sites, sections, pages and keywords;
- types of banners allowed for an advertiser;
- maximum number of visitors allowed to view the contract banners;
- maximum number of the contract banners impressions and clicks;
- show banners to visitors from specified countries only;
- show banners to visitors under certain advertising campaigns only;
- show banners to new site visitors, returning visitors, or all visitors;
- restrict banner shows to an hourly and/or daily schedule over a specific range of days;
- assign user permissions to access the contract;
- analyse the contract and banner dynamics using graphs (visitors, shows, clicks, CTR);
- give advertisers access to reports on contracts and banners.

Interacting with Advertisers
You can permit advertisers to publish advertisement on your site in an unattended fashion according to restrictions stipulated by their contracts. All changes take effect after they are approved by an administrator.

The banner media plan can stipulate the following conditions:
- hours and days of week;
- country;
- sections and pages;
- advertising campaign;
- keywords and more.
Keyword-based targeting enhances the use of your advertising area by increasing the CTR of banners. Only the site owner can impose conditions to restrict banner impressions under an advertising campaign.
