Using Chat Component

Guest Guest	#1 11/01/2012 20:42:28 Hello All, I would like to know how to use the chat component on a fresh page. I have created a new purposely for chatting, and would like to load the chat window window. Any would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Hello,

Actually, there is no chat component in the product. The instant messenger functionality comes from a module. If the Instant Messenger module is installed (you can check this at the Desktop>Settings>System settings>Modules), the bitrix:im.messenger component should be included in the site(portal) template, then the notifier panel is shown on every public page.
Unfortunately, it would not be possible to make the messenger 'mini-panel' invisible on all pages except the one of your choosing.

Guest Guest	#3 11/05/2012 18:25:47 Thanks, I forgot to add that I am using an older version (version 9) of the Bitrix Intranet Portal. I users to be able to visit a specific page, dedicated to only chatting, like a chat room sort of. Thanks

It was and is still possible to write messages between only two users. The messenger in the 9th version is realized with the bitrix:socialnetwork.messages_chat component.
