In order to enable indexing of documents created in MS Office versions prior to 2007 (doc, xls and ppt formats), you need a special document conversion tool – Catdoc.

If Bitrix Intranet Portal is installed on Bitrix Web Environment version 1.1, Catdoc is already up and running.
